This concert is an invitation to travel through the music of the three cultures, bringing together fragments of the Andalusian tradition with Sephardic compositions and themes of medieval Christian music. Ana Alcaide added a new touch to these different kinds of music by introducing the Iberian medieval music of the nyckelharpa which is a traditional stringed musical instrument of Swedish origin.
Aroug means the roots that are attaching us to the mother land. It is a vision coming from the old tunisian music along with its different styles. Throughout his project, Badreddine Dridi wants to prove that in order to invent new styles and musical forms we need to ensure strong basements. Actually, Bader launched Aroug to dig into the tunisian musical identity and its afro-berber heritage: Stambali, aaroubi, sahraoui, rakrouki, etc.. and maghrebin styles such as Rai and Gnawa
