Métamorphoses du 'ūd. De l'organologie à l'espace compositionnel
The subject of this book is turning around a major question : can we conceive a link between the making-of the ‘ūd (Arab-Eastern lute), the music composed for it and an appropriate score representation ? This book tries to answer to this question through the study of the historical and organological evolution of the 'ūd, in ancient writings and the current observation of the instrument at the same time, the development of a compositional space around the traditional and contemporary musical forms, and finally, the realization of a semiotic modeling with the aim of a score representation of these forms. It is a modeling which highlights a compositional musical thought.
