Created in 2011, BB Band is a Tunisian-German cooperation project, essentially built around the work of the Tunisian composer Fadhel Boubaker. Following an Oriental Jazz repertoire, the group released in 2012 its first album called "Un coup du destin". The band's approach conceives a universalist work mixing Arab-Andalusian musical traditions and the esthtetics of jazz, with a sound unique to the band. The group, whether on stage or in their studio, only works on original compositions. Despite the socio-cultural differences, the musicians were able to create an original product that not only reunites them, but also generated the interest and attention of cutural institutuions in Tunis and in Germany. During the creation-processus, adding to a specific care to inter-culturality, the band makes sure to share its experience with the Tunisian and German musical youth, and aims towards a cultural decentralization, especially in Tunisia.
