Mounir Troudi

Mûsîqât 2014

Mounir Troudi

Mounir Troudi’s musical career is punctuated with several collaborations with figures of the international musical scene, such as the Italian Antonio Maiello, the Turkish Mercan Dédé, the Tunisian SKNDR and the Canadian Erik Truffaz. They have, one by one, enriched his career. However, he never dissociated himself from a musical heritage that marked his early stages :  Sufi music. According to Mounir Troudi, Sufi music should be liberated from the sacralisation and conservatism blocking it. He defends his idea through a new artistic creation, in his show « Ichâra » (Sign), and it will be performed to the public for the first time during the 9th edition of Mûsîqât. This concert will combine harmonies, asymmetric rhythms, sounds from disparate musical universes and the authenticity of a Sufi repertoire in all its depth.
