Dancer, choreographer, musician, composer, singer, Raghunath Manet is all at the same time. Spiritual son of Ram Gopal, Raghunath is considered as one of the greatest Indian artists. He is renowned for innovating and introducing for the first time the notion of choreography in the bharata-natyam, a style of classical dance of South India, usually a solo practice.
The music that accompanies the bharata-natyam is in the Caranatic style of South India, considered by some as a purer form than the music of North India.
The used instruments are the maridangam (drums), the nâgasvaram (oboe), the flute, the violin and the vînâ (lute).
